We learnt all about Nehemiah and how he got everyone to work as a team to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
Then... we had a go at some wall-building ourselves:

Day 2: News from The Messy Bit!

Well done to the three that did an eggs-cellent bit of egg cracking...
And very well done to the three brave GROUNDBREAKERS who got very eggy!

Highlights of Day 3:

We learnt all about Elijah and how he challenged the prophets of Baal to a fire-starting contest. God won!
Nick 'The Vic.' modelled some very dodgy-looking earrings!

Day 3: News from The Messy Bit!

Highlights of Day 4

We learnt all about Daring Designer Hezekiah and how he saved the city
with his trust in God and a clever plan.
We covered the walls with our groovy banners!
We wrote some cracking good prayers, especially this one:

God is better than the rest
so never put Him to the test.
Pray to Him and thank Him too,
then He will be good to you.
The Lord will welcome anyone
so be the follower of His Son.

Day 4: News from The Messy Bit!

Well done to Martin (Concrete Mixers), Laura (Diggers) and Bethany (Rammers) for their accurate bit of toothpaste squeezing!

And very well done to Charlotte (Excavators), Rhys (Cranes) and especially Freya (Excavators) for knowing what a
toothbrush feels like!

Highlights of Day 5:

We learnt all about Jesus and how he forgave a paralysed man and made him walk. We heard that Jesus can forgive us too and turn our lives around.
The Cranes FINALLY won the shouting contest!
Like Jelly & Ice Cream was voted the favourite GROUNDBREAKERS song.
Several of us asked Jesus to be our friend - some for the very first time!

Day 5: News from The Messy Bit!

Friday Night was definitely...

Night!
At the GROUNDBREAKERS Disco in the Parish Hall, Wareham
We came, we ate, we danced the night away!

On Sunday there was no need to be...
	or
because we finished the week with...

Groovy GROUNDBREAKER Praise!
We sang all the cool songs again. We interviewed some GROUNDBREAKERS about their favourite bits of the week. We remembered the Bible characters we'd learnt all about - and won lots of choccy bars and lollies! We gave everyone (including the adults) a chance to enter *The Messy Bit* for one last time!

All in all GROUNDBREAKERS was a great success and brilliant fun to be involved in!
