Shiver
my timbers! There be pirates round these parts— washed up on a desert
island and looking for treasure. Landlubbers was this year's children's holiday club (for 5-11 years) organised by Upton Methodist Church. It ran every morning from Monday 25th to Friday 29th July from 10 am till 12 noon and was the usual fast-moving mixture of songs, games, craft activities and much more. Landlubbers featured a group of pirates, washed up on a remote tropical island searching for treasure with the help of a map and some puzzling clues. These landlubbers were the children and leaders in the club (including Sooty and Sweep!) They eventually find what they are looking for - but it doesn't turn out the way they expect. They discover that the greatest treasure of all is knowing Jesus Christ. Some of the fun stuff that happened each day:

| The
week wraps up with an extra-special Landlubbers service on
Sunday 31st July at 10:30 am for all ages followed by a barbecue lunch.
It was a chance to bring the whole family along to Church that morning
to check out all the stuff we'd got up to over the week.
