Hot Potatoes will be a different kind of group: less of a traditional Bible study and more a discussion group which is resourced and guided by the Bible. As for what we'll be discussing ... well, it's not called Hot Potatoes for nothing!
The aim is to tackle some of the thorniest, controversial and downright uncomfortable topics that face us today. But as we face these topics we also ask whether there are resources in our Christian faith which can help us in our struggle with them. So we'll draw upon the riches of the Bible, our own faith and life experiences and also (via an audio CD) the musings of famous Christian speaker and writer Dr. Tony Campolo.
Over the course of 6 sessions we'll wrestle together with the following questions:

Rarely in discussions of these kinds are matters either black or white and in many of our discussions there will probably be strong feelings expressed. So perhaps the most important thing to remember in tackling these Hot Potatoes is that whatever we share with one another we do so in a spirit of love and mutual respect even if we fundamentally disagree.
Tackling controversial issues is a risky thing to do but I offer the course in the sincere hope that it will better equip us as followers of Jesus to address some of the difficult questions that we face today.
