Brownies

I’ve now created a separate page for Suzannah’s Brownies. She leads the reactivated 2nd Verwood Brownie Pack and this page will act as a digital hub for the girls and their families. In other news, many congratulations to the local Rainbows, Brownies and Guides who won the best float competition in last week’s Verwood carnival!

Tree House Launches Soon!

We’ll soon be launching our brand new Sunday morning children’s group at Verwood Methodist Church. I am minister to three churches: Verwood, Holtwood and Woodlands – and we are Nick & Suzannah Wood! There are trees everywhere! Trees figure quite a bit in the Bible and they speak to me of growth and development and…

Christingle Service!

We’re looking forward to Sooty and Sweep making their Verwood debut in a week’s time at our Christingle Service. It will also be the first time we’ve been able to do a live show with the boys for ages. If you’re in the local area then we’d love to see you!

Crafty Christmas!

We had a great morning yesterday at Verwood Methodist Church when 26 children came along to our Crafty Christmas event. They made lots of decorations which were then put on the two trees in the church. The children also made Christmas cards for residents of a local MHA care home. I think a good time…

Suzannah and I are planning to lead another of our Children’s Christmas Craft Mornings at Verwood Methodist Church on December 4th. It will be good to be doing this again as it was always an enjoyable event when we ran them in previous years. Great to be doing it in our new home and community…

Moving Out & Moving In!

Today was my last Sunday working in the Poole Bay Circuit. Where does the time go? We are SO THANKFUL for the kindness and generosity shown to us by so many people over the last five years. It has been so good to be back in Dorset and we’re delighted to not be moving too far –…

Another Seasonal Story of Hope

Suzannah and I have this morning recorded another seasonal Story of Hope. This one will be number 17 in our series and features Sooty, Sweep and Croc and the account of Jesus’ temptations in the wilderness from Matthew 4: 1-11. This will probably be the final one as we’ve now filmed our way through the…

The Christingle Song Lives On!

A few years ago now I wrote, recorded and released a song specifically for a Christingle Service. It’s called (not very originally) The Christingle Song! It has been used by different churches in the UK for a while but with the COVID situation it has this year just gone nuts! I’ve had so many people…
